Role and Tasks:
High Speed Multi-Energy Imaging in X-ray has a big role in the future of industrial inspection systems for quality, safety and recycling. We want a talented, mixed signal designer to work on the photon-counting readout ASIC´s at the core of our current and future systems. You will be responsible for the design of custom analog / mixed-signal circuits from system concept to architecture evaluation, circuit implementation, simulation, layout extraction and verification. This role reports directly to the CTO. You will want to join a small, multidisciplinary science and engineering team dedicated to commercialising cutting edge inspection technologies. You will have a passion for ensuring your solutions can go live in the commercial world. You will enjoy both autonomous and collaborative working, anticipating issues and creating solutions inside technical boundaries and business goals.
Requirements:
Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Experience in the design, development and test of analog / mixed-signal IC´s. Including layout and post-layout simulations of:pre-amplifiers, operational & shaping amplifiers, comparators, DACs / ADCs, and bandgap-based reference circuits.Direct experience of readout ICs for high energy particles is a benefit. Proficiency in the use of advanced schematic and layout tools (e.g. Cadence IC design package, Mentor Calibre verification tools, and Analog/Mixed signal simulation methods such as Monte Carlo). Good knowledge of the operation modes of common instrumentation equipment such as oscilloscope, ADC, DAC, and waveform generators. User-level knowledge of Python and high level programming languages. Good communication, both as a collaborative worker and critical thinker. Good problem solver, able to anticipate issues and create solutions for diverse projects. Strong documentation and writing skills (in English)
